A few weeks ago Ally and I were playing when I smelled that she had messed her diaper. Usually she'll tell you about this but she had not so I asked her if she had pooed. She replied no (despite the fact that she clearly had). I asked her if she hadn't pooed then what was I smelling? She informed me that I was smelling flowers. I told her that most flowers smell much more pleasant and I changed her diaper. Saturday night Mike and I were putting Ally in the tub for her bath. After removing her diaper I noticed something purple on her bum. When she turned I saw that she had a window cling with large purple flowers plastered onto one cheek. How it got there I have no idea, but maybe she hadn't been lying about smelling flowers. Now I'm just worried someday she'll come home with a tattooed hinie.

Another bath time surprise lately happened when Ally named 23 of the 26 letters of the alphabet correctly. We have a foam set that she plays with in the tub and she pulled them out of the water at random and would tell me the letter before sticking it to the wall. The few that she mixed up were even very understandable, she called a K an X, an M a W, and the I a T. Other than that she got them all. I was aware she knew most of her letters, but was shocked to find out it was so many, and most she didn't really even need to think about.

This past weekend was Easter weekend and we celebrated by inviting our church friends over for an egg hunt. We had 13 kids total from age 3 1/2 down. Four of them were babies (i.e. Aaron) but the rest did the hunt. Mike hid over 200 eggs around the yard for the kids to find. Ally who had been so excited to look for eggs (see previous post) didn't go as crazy as I'd hoped. She got a bit distracted when she found that there was candy in the eggs that she could sit and eat and became even more distracted when she saw her bikes and car to play with.

But, all in all I think most of the kids had a good time. I hope that we can make this an annual tradition that will be more fun as the kids grow, but our ABF is having so many kids I'm not sure they'll all fit in our house much longer!

In preparation for Easter Ally and I colored eggs. I got an egg spinner so we added dyer and Ally was able to push the button to spin the eggs around. They looked really great, but as she was admiring them Ally squeezed one a bit too hard and we discovered that mommy did not boil the eggs long enough and instead of hard-boiled we got over easy. Luckily we had no plans to eat them so there wasn't too much disappointment.

Easter itself was more laid back. Since Ally wasn't so keen to find the eggs we didn't hide anymore. But, the bunny had left a basket at Mamaw's and Papaw's that they brought over. She got a bunny (that she named Tootie the Bunny), some fruit snacks, and an egg full of coins that she was able to put into her bank. Later our friend Becca brought her over an egg with mini M&M's that kept Ally busy for sometime.

Through all of this fun Aaron has been his happy little self. He's been cooing and talking to you when he gets the attention. He has the best little smile. I was really excited when I took him in for his 3 month pictures and he was very smiley for the lady. Ally was never quite so photogenic (it's still hard to get her smiling). Aaron smiled and laughed making it very hard for mommy to keep the picture order small!

Hahahaha I love the "flowers" story! And perhaps I'll have to send some Cadbury creme eggs over in a few Easters when both Aaron and Ally will be able to appreciate them.
That's good that Aaron makes pictures easy for you. I remember Denise having to Photoshop some tears off Ally's face once, lol.
