In a little over a week, Aaron will be two months old and Ally will be one month away from being an official 2 year old. Time flies just a little too fast around the Hay household these days!
Aaron is really getting big. We laugh about how much bigger he seems to be than Ally was. We haven't had him weighed too recently, but he's feeling pretty solid. Even daily it seems that he feels bigger. Ironically enough, he can still wear many of his newborn outfits. Many are starting to get tight, which may add to his perceived solidness. But, I keep thinking that he is already older than he is. He can sit in the bumbo seat with his head held up really well, something that Ally wasn't quite doing at 2 months. At my doctors appt. this week, the midwife thought that Aaron looked like a 3 month old, so it's not just my imagination that he seems big!

In other Aaron news, he has started smiling more. He really likes the bears on the mobile above the changing table and will sit and talk to them. It's a nice safe place for him to play when Mommy needs to get a few things done and Ally is about. He has also slept through the night the past 3 nights or so. He's worked into a routine where he has a bottle around midnight and then we head to be and he sleeps until about 6 or 7. It's actually really similar to what Ally was doing at this age, so my hope is that he just continues on the same path and becomes a great sleeper.

Ally has been doing well. Her head healed with very little bruising which was good. She still surprises us everyday with the things that she says. This morning Mike was laying on the couch and she gave him her binky and her bear and said 'Daddy feel good.' Then she shoved the binky in his mouth and said 'make you happy.' I guess she figures that what makes her happy makes us happy too. One thing that makes her happy lately is having you kiss her 'boo-boo's.' Many seem to be invisible, but as soon as we kiss the area she replies 'feel better.' She even asked Aaron to kiss one.
We joke that Ally has her own version of Twitter. She constantly updates you on what she is doing. I really like 'Ally done crying.' Sometimes she'll say that without having been crying, I guess that means she was upset. And she will tell you 'Ally crying' or 'Ally sad.' Many times a day I'll hear 'Ally happy/cute/funny' - or other people will be those things. She has a great memory for people. Hopefully that means she'll be able to remember names better than Mike or I can. If we have friends over, she'll talk about them by name for weeks. She will also make up stories about them coming over. She told Mike one day on the phone that Matt and Gretchen had come over to play.

Ally has been very into singing and dancing lately. The nursery worker at church even said that Ally helped lead song time. I think she gets some of it from watching Yo Gabba Gabba. They have guests who come teach them a dance and I have been noticing her repeating them. She has a pretty good memory for all of the steps. And, since they always say each step as they do it, Ally tweets as she dances :) She also sings a few songs on her own. Frequently she'll say "Twinkle star, How I wonder you are." Then there's 'Circle now' which is from Yo Gabba Gabba as well where they sing as they walk/run/skip in a circle. She actually walks/runs in a circle as she sings 'circle now'!
