Tall is not a word that is used often in the Hay household. When it is used, it is generally in reference to the fact that we are not tall people. It seems, however, that our baby is. Ally went to the doctor on Wednesday last week for her 6 month check up and shots. (Mean mommy that I am she went on her actual 6 mo birthday - Happy 1/2 birthday!) When I sat her down to get her weight the nurse said, "She looks long - is her daddy tall?" Ally and I had a little laugh. I figured that it was because she is so skinny (she weighed in at 15 lbs 5.7 oz - 45th percentile).

But, when the nurse measured Ally she was 26 and 1/2 inches which puts her taller than 75% on the babies her age. I guess there's height in those genes somewhere, but most likely at least 50% of those kids will pass her by age 12. So Ally, enjoy your height while you've got it.

Now that she's 6 months old, Ally has mastered a few new tricks. Last Saturday she managed to finally roll from her belly back onto her back. She's an old pro now. Though it's still rare that she'll roll to get anywhere, she generally flip flops and stays put. She's also working harder on her army crawl. Today I put her down to play and came back to find her 3 feet ahead of where I left her.
Ally has also been working on getting attention when she wants it. She has learned to 'scream' loudly until someone pays attention to her. I noticed it Friday when we were at the mall and she was looking directly other people and 'screaming' until they looked at her. The funny thing is that she'll smile the entire time she's yelling.
Sunday we had Ally dedicated at church. At our church this means that we recognize that she is the best gift that God could ever give us and promise as parents to raise her in the church and teach her to believe that Christ is her savior.

Her daddy wrote her a very nice letter that he had to read in front of everyone. Two of Ally's friends were also dedicated, Micah (on the left) and Johnny (on the right). Notice how both of those boys are checking our beautiful girl out while she smiles about it!
