Baby It's Cold Outside...

...and inside! Ally wore her hat around last night and today since the temperature dipped a bit and mommy and daddy aren't quite ready to turn the heat on. We do have a space heater in her room for night time - we aren't completely horrid parents. Ally doesn't seem to mind though, in fact I think she rather likes wearing her hat since she's so darn cute in it!
Today Ally had her first 'fall weather' stroller ride. She got all bundled up and we walked to the Middle School to see daddy at football practice. We thought we'd make use of all the new sidewalks that the city had put in between the new High School and the Middle School. It was a much longer walk than I thought it would be (probably because on the way there we did a bit of uphill travel). We had to cut through the backyard of the new school. Apparently the new High School has a moat (got to keep out the rivals) and staying out of it took a little extra strolling. But, it was a nice day and good for us to get out.
Ally has officially said her 'first word.' She's been babbling what sounds like dada lately but I'm never quite sure if I just want to be hearing that. But today I said something about Daddy and Ally said 'dada-da.' Donnie was even there to witness. I claim that she's been saying 'mom' for awhile. She does it when she's really mad so maybe we don't want her being angry to be associated with yelling 'mom!'
The past few days Ally has really been noticing things on the walls. I had bought the letters of her name and we hung them up the other day. When I was done I showed them to her and she got very excited. So then we walked around her room and the house looking at all the other pictures on the walls. She really likes pictures of herself. She gets very excited when she sees pictures of herself. She likes to see pictures of other babies too but not nearly as much as she likes to see herself.
Wednesday night Ally had a play date and I had my first taste of dealing with two babies by myself. Micah came over, but he was only here for about an hour. He was very easy going and happy to do whatever. My child however decided to be difficult and poop her pants within the first 10 seconds that the three of us were alone. So, Micah got to play while Ally had a wardrobe change - girls! But after that all was well. We had hoped that Ally watching Micah crawl around would motivate her a bit more, but she's still working on it. She will pull her knees up and push herself forward if she really wants to but she rarely does. And she's almost rolling from her belly to her back, she gets her rear way up in the air and almost tips - it just hasn't happened yet.
