One Month Already

This week Ally hits the one month mark. Time has really flown. Ally is starting to look a little different. She's filled out more and the rest of her face has caught up to her chubby cheeks. She's still the cutest baby ever!
I think we are starting to see some of Ally's personality. For the most part, she's a mellow, happy baby. She's very much a cuddler and still loves to be held. She does have an impatient streak (that's from her father) and she can get mad if she doesn't get what she wants right away. It makes breastfeeding a little bit frustrating at times because she'll scream instead of eat. She doesn't like to be confined - she hates swaddling now and will kick until she's free. And she still likes music, it quiets her when she's fussy. She especially likes Queen, 'Bohemian Rhapsody" is a favorite. They play it an abnormal amount on the one station we listen to and she always stops crying when it comes on. I guess I'll have to invest in the cd. She doesn't care much for swings, not sure why but she is not a fan. Ally is also very chatty. When she's in a good mood, she'll sit and talk to you or the wall, whatever will listen.
Our little girl is very advanced (what parent doesn't say that?) She'll hold her head up very well on her own. When you hold her on your chest she'll inch worm her way up using her legs to push herself where she wants to go. She also uses her head to lean her body one way or another. She's still working on the thumb sucking, but we're sure she'll get there soon. Ally can grab her pacifier. Usually she'll do that to pull it out of her mouth, but I'm sure the one time she was throwing it back at me because she didn't want it. And, when she is awake, she's very alert. She focuses very well and that just makes her seem all the smarter!
Night time is getting a bit better. She's been sleeping for about 4 hours at the start of the night (though last night that did not happen). After 4 am tends to be hit and miss (mostly miss) but she takes a long nap in the morning so I get to sleep then. We also nap late afternoon, so I don't get much housework done but I'm not totally sleep deprived. It was funny, a friend was over with her baby girl who is three weeks older than Ally. Her daughter is sleeping though the night, but she won't sleep at all during the day. Ally sleeps most of the day and only a bit at night. I think we were both jealous of the other because I want to sleep at night and she has trouble getting anything done during the day because her daughter won't sleep. I guess I can't complain. My baby is generally happy and well-behaved, so what if sleep comes in 2 hour spurts?
