7 Weeks Went Fast

Sorry for the lag in updates, our girl is keeping her mommy busy. Oddly, a sleeping baby can occupy quite a bit of your time! It's very hard to believe that Ally has been with us for almost 2 months now. It really has gone fast (I hate hearing people say that, but I guess it is true). At her 6 week check-up she was 9 lbs 13 oz and 22 in long, putting her in about the 25th percentile. These days she likes to spend her awake time playing on her mat. She loves to look at the mirror and try to grab the toys - though she generally just bats them around. And for some reason she always has that fist out. Sometimes she looks like superman flying though the air. She's still sleeping quite a bit, but now she's also sleeping at night! We were very excited. She did it a few times, but would then be up the next night. This past week she has been consistently sleeping for 6 -7 hours a night. We put her down around midnight and then get to sleep until 6 or 7, it's great!
Ally had a few more 'firsts' this past week. She had her first Tallmadge Memorial 5k - we walked the mile, Mike ran the 5k. That was fun, we had the oldest and youngest participants from our family. My grandpa ran (he turned 80 this year) and Ally of course was the youngest. We also had 4 generations of people participate since my mom ran as well so it was a whole family affair. We even had a special Ritchie's Sporting Goods onsie made for Ally to commemorate the occasion! After the race, Ally had her first Memorial day picnic at Nana's where she got to me some of her family for the first time. Oh yeah, she also met her Aunt Lisa for the first time last Saturday. Ally is really hoping that Lisa will take her to Ireland one day - she promises not to cry again :)
Ally's other first was her first cold. She's actually still fighting with it, but it's not too bad. She just gets congested sometimes. She did have trouble eating one day because of a stuffy nose, but that seems to have passed and she is her usual happy self.
Another first for Ally was her first trip to the Tea House. We went a few weeks ago for mother's day and Ally, of course, slept through the whole thing, but we did make sure to snap some pictures so that we can prove that she went.
