Sorry for the lag in updates, but there really isn't much baby news. I guess that is a good thing. Baby is still kicking away, though I think it has become rather limited in its space and I've been feeling more knees and elbows. Baby has also taken to having hiccups, several times a day. I think that it is cute, but I do feel bad for little Manna, I personally hate having the hiccups and from what I've been told I also had them in the womb.
In addition to being a football fan, I think that baby is now a Cavs fan. We went to a game several weeks ago and baby got to hear all the excitement of a Cavs win first hand. A few nights later when we (well Mike) were watching a game on t.v., the commentator told all Cavs fans to stand up and cheer - Baby kicked really hard. Then today I was giving Mike play by play of the game on the phone and when I hung up, baby started squirming and kicking until I started to tell it what was going on in the game. I know you think I'm making this up, I wish I were...
But, baby is not just a sports fan. Baby seems to like music too. At first I thought it was just 70's and 80's rock, but lately baby will 'dance' to almost any kind of music - even commercials.
Manna's room is nearly finished. Mom came over and put up the wallpaper border for us. It looks great, as you can see in the picture, and really helps the room look more like a nursery. The theme is teddy bears and stars with a little bit of the alphabet. The bedding and wall hanging both say "B is for Bear." Once baby arrives and we decide on a name I'd like to put that above the crib, but that will have to wait. Around the room I have book covers that feature bears framed and hung on the walls.
Oh, and at the shower they played the game where you guess baby's birthday and gender. I was very amused to hear two ladies use the exact same reasoning to determine if baby is a boy or a girl - one said boy, the other girl. So much for old wives tales!
