A Little Sumpin'

Ally's favorite phrase these days is 'I want sumpin'...'  She doesn't bother to tell you exactly what 'sumpin' is, so it becomes a guessing game.  Since she discovered the joy of Oreo balls, she now asks for 'Sumpin' that looks like a round...' (she makes a circle motion with her hand to go with this request in case you don't know what a circle is).  She even got creative the other night and asked for 'sumpin' that looks like a rectangle' when she wanted a cracker.  She hasn't picked up on the fact that I am not a big fan of guessing games, those are more her daddy's forte.  But, I have to admit it is a creative way to ask for a cookie.  Maybe she figures if she doesn't actually say the word cookie she is more likely to get what she is asking for.
Speaking of cookies, the other night we had our friends over for a cookie exchange.  The result was an abundance of really yummy cookies and we are having fun sampling all of them.  During the exchange Ally's friends Carter and Joshua came over to play.  At one point they we watching the Mickey Mouse show together and this was how we found them...
We also met friends at McDonalds this week for a play date.  I think that Ally was really excited to see people other than me and Aaron.  She had a blast running after her friends yelling 'I'm coming, I'm coming!  my name is Ally!'  I think she talked non-stop.
Excitement is starting to grow around Christmas.  I don't think that Ally totally understands, but she does know that it is to celebrate baby Jesus' birthday and Ally really likes birthday parties.  There was also excitement today when a package arrived in the mail.  I told her that Santa had sent it from the north pole because she seemed a bit freaked out when someone told her that Santa was going to come to her house.
Meeting Santa at the tree festival...
...Ally preferred the dog.
Since we waited so long to get our Christmas pictures done I decided to do them myself this year.  I discovered that I would not make a very good children's photographer.  That or my kids just aren't great models.  I had a really hard time getting them to sit together, and forget smiling.  I was even bribing them with goldfish crackers and dancing  and singing like a maniac.  But, we did get some good enough pictures to make our Christmas cards.

With all the excitement of Christmas I keep forgetting that our little guy is going to be a year old just two and a half weeks.  He still seems so young to me.  I'm not sure if that is because I have Ally acting like such a big girl or because he is small for his age.  It's probably a mix of both plus the fact that he's the baby.

We're still waiting for Aaron to start walking.  He can stand on his own for awhile, but he still just falls forward trusting that you will catch him before he hits the ground face first.  He can walk really well with the push car.  It is hilarious because once he has crossed the room a few times he gets his confidence and starts running.  We also keep thinking that those top front teeth will come in, but we have yet to see them.
Much like his sister, Aaron has discovered the joy of dancing.  His version is bobbing his head or rocking back and forth on his hands and knees.  He has some decent moves.  One of his favorite dancing songs is Britteny Spears' 'Ooops I did it again' that Ally has on a toy guitar.  Aaron has become really good at pushing the button so that he can play the song and dance to it.  One day he even listen to his music while browsing our 'library'...
Sorry it's a little long, if he sees the camera he comes and grabs it.

Right now for Christmas we are hoping to be germ free.  We seem to have caught every bug going around for the last two months.  I think we were at the doctor's office every other week for two weeks.  Currently Ally and I have colds and Aaron has a mild rash that I am hoping is roseola that will go away in a day or two, otherwise it is back to the doctor.  Hopefully we will have some great immune systems for the rest of the winter.
One morning Aaron's nose was completely plugged by a giant booger.
