So, I've been chastised several times now for not updating Ally's blog more regularly. Sorry about that. I figured that the four of you who read it see her often and know what she's up to :) But, for those who can't get enough Ally, here she is!

I guess the biggest news - other than her turning 1 - is that she's walking! We thought she'd be an early walker, but Ally seemed perfectly happy to crawl. Then, I figured it would still be some time since she wasn't even standing on her own and my thought was that you need to work on standing (for balance) to walk. Silly me, Ally decided to learn both at once. She started last Saturday and has been steadily improving since. At first she was very wobbly - still learning the balance thing - but she's doing much better now. Though part of the wobbles in the beginning we due to the fat that she was trying to
run. (Sorry, bad parents we are, have yet to tape it.)
Now, she cruises around, walking as she pleases without being prompted. There are still some wobbles and spills, but running is not far off.
Ally's other newest trick is climbing up onto the couch. She literally learned this yesterday. She did it last week when a toy had been left near the cou

ch and she climbed up. But yesterday she stretched one knee all the way up onto the couch and then pulled herself on. Then she settled in like a 'big girl' to make some phone calls. Sadly for Ally two of the couches are too high and she can't quite get that knee high enough. It was the cause of much crying before nap time this afternoon. But luckily she is very careful at getting off and backs down quite well.
Ally is a bit of a chatter box if her binkie isn't in her mouth. She says:
Mama
Dada
Bubu (Bubbles)
Be (Bear) she'll also growl
Baba (bottle)
Ca - Car
Go! She say this to Mike's track kids when they are running or if she wants you to read Go Dog Go!
Ca ca - Clock

Bye Bye
Hi!
She'll also make sounds for elephants, monkeys, lions, and dogs. She actually calls dogs - "wuf".
I'm sure she has one or two more that I forgot and she does know the signs for 'cup' and 'more'.
She is also very good at the point and say - 'ooooo' technique to get what she wants. It's effective as long as she stops by the time she's ten.
Hopefully you are satisfied for now. I must go - Ally woke up in the middle of writing this and I left her with a small stash of cheerios that I suspect she is currently mashing into the carpet :)

You forgot 'Pop-Pop' from the time she pointed at dad when I was last home. Has she not said that again?
She has, I realized there were several I forgot. I was trying to type them fast because she was waking up from a nap.
